The first commercial deployment of BIOPAQ®RISE at full industrial scale. We showcased it in Gdańsk.

20 May 2026

Last week’s Seminar for Juice Industry Specialists and Technologists, organized by PGD in Gdańsk, is now behind us. It was an excellent opportunity to discuss technologies that are already redefining the standards of the modern food industry today enhancing process efficiency, operational resilience, and technological safety. For SEEN Technologie, it was also an opportunity to present solutions already operating at full industrial scale.

Our company was represented by Dr. Eng. Bogusław Buczak, Commercial Proxy and Director of the Process Engineering Department, and Iurii Baklanov, Sales Engineer. Dr. Eng. Bogusław Buczak’s presentation entitled “By-products in Fruit and Vegetable Processing – A Source of Energy and Process Water. ASOS® – Digital Transformation, Industry 4.0” opened the discussion on a modern approach to industrial wastewater treatment, energy recovery, and intelligent process management.

The highlight of our participation in the event was the presentation of the first commercial deployment of Paques’ BIOPAQ®RISE technology at full industrial scale. As the exclusive and authorized partner of Paques in Poland, we implement these solutions in installations delivered for the domestic industry.

This solution addresses one of the key challenges of high-rate anaerobic reactors the effective retention of granular biomass under fluctuating operating conditions and dynamically changing wastewater loads.

Key advantages of the technology:

– high biomass settling capacity and effective retention outside the bioreactor,
– the ability to operate under higher organic loading rates than conventional systems,
– prefabricated equipment significantly reducing installation time,
– easy adaptation of existing tanks through the installation of ready-made internal modules,
– simple operation without the need to empty the bioreactor containing biomass.

An additional advantage of the BIOPAQ®RISE technology is the use of a clog-resistant wastewater distribution system, which ensures even distribution of the influent stream throughout the bioreactor, intensive mixing with recirculate and granular biomass, as well as effective wastewater conditioning. The system also enables the collection and removal of excess biomass from the entire reactor surface.

This is particularly important for food industry facilities, where production variability and seasonality directly affect the characteristics of process wastewater.

We would like to thank all participants for their attentive interest in our presentation, valuable discussions, and strong interest in solutions supporting a modern and efficient food industry.
