The new sewage treatment plant for the MLEKOVITA Group in Wysokie Mazowieckie has been officially opened!

Today, at the production plant of the MLEKOVITA Group in Wysokie Mazowieckie, there was a ceremonial opening of a new sewage treatment plant.

The event was attended by representatives of the MLEKOVITA Group with President of the Management Board Dariusz Sapiński, as well as representatives of the contractor from SEEN Technologie company, namely Dariusz Jasak, President of the Management Board, Dr. Eng. Bogusław Buczak, Procurator and Director of the Process Engineering Department, Michał Kozłowski, Deputy Director of the Implementation Department, and Piotr Szmich, Project Manager.

Mlekovita, as a leader, constantly evolves and consistently bases its business model on continuous development not only for the benefit of customers and consumers. Dynamically developing enterprises have a huge impact on the environment. For Mlekovita, the concept of sustainable development is based on achieving a balance between economic growth, improving quality of life, and environmental care.

That is why we regularly invest in ecology, as evidenced by the commissioning of a large facility: a modern biofermentation factory, thanks to which our plant is even more environmentally friendly and its energy independence is increased. The new investment provides a total of 30% coverage for electricity in the overall demand of the Mlekovita Group's central plant.

I believe that the facility we have completed will contribute to further development of the production plant in Wysokie Mazowieckie with maximum respect for the natural environment, which will bring tangible benefits to the entire MLEKOVITA Group and add splendor to the General Contractor.

The goal of the completed investment was not only to meet the required parameters of wastewater, such as achieving an environmental effect before discharging them into the "Brok" river, but also:

  • Conducting the methanation process of flotation sludge, excess sludge, whey, and producing biogas from them - fuel for the production of electrical and thermal energy, in the form of steam;
  • Taking over increased pollutant loads reaching the existing treatment plant;
  • Establishing a connection with the existing treatment plant to ensure operational flexibility;
  • Implementing solutions to minimize the amount of produced sludge;
  • Using treated water for technological purposes;
  • Reducing operational costs, making the facility self-sufficient and profitable.
  • The construction of the new wastewater treatment plant involved the application of a series of highly efficient and modern technologies dedicated to the dairy sector, aiming to give the installation the character of a profitable biorefinery.

The priority objectives of the investment are carried out through a series of unit processes, creating a complete technological-process chain. Among the main elements of the complex installation, the following should be mentioned: the pressure flotation process, activated sludge, and methanation fermentation leading to biogas production. The new infrastructure also includes 2 CHP cogeneration units with a capacity of 800 kW each and a steam generator with a capacity of 900 kg/h at 11 bar pressure.

The treatment plant processes wastewater with loads equivalent to 350,000 population equivalents (PE).

The biogas production reaches an impressive volume of 5,146,500 m3 annually, allowing for the generation of 12.5 GWh of electrical energy per year. With the treatment plant's demand of 5.6 GWh, an additional 6.8 GWh remains available for use at the plant. Additionally, the installation generates 12.0 GWth of thermal energy annually, of which 4.4 GWth is used in the powder plant through the steam generator.

The opening of the new facility is a significant step towards increasing the operational efficiency of the plant and achieving sustainable development goals that align with the strategy to combat climate change.

The project was carried out on a "turnkey" basis.
