We will expand the wastewater treatment plant at the production facilities of a global manufacturer of chocolate products and pet food to improve the removal of mineral residues from the wastewater!
One of the main procedural assumptions of this project is to ensure specialized removal of mineral deposits, including phosphorus and calcium compounds. This process will allow for the maximization of spontaneous ion removal, which in turn will contribute to reducing scaling phenomena.
I am proud that the global leader in chocolate products and pet food has chosen SEEN Technologies to carry out this Project. This is proof that our innovative solutions deliver the best results in maintaining the ongoing efficiency of the current installation,
says Dariusz Jasak, President of the Management Board of SEEN Technologies Sp. z o.o.
I am glad that we can be a partner in achieving our Client's goals.
Scaling, or the deposition of mineral sediments, is a fairly common phenomenon in wastewater treatment plants, including in many industrial installations, especially those processing substrates with high concentrations of phosphorus and calcium. It is a very troublesome phenomenon, resulting in reduced throughput, performance disruptions, decreased efficiency of purification processes, and the need to carry out cyclic, difficult-to-implement actions to remove continuously accumulating "scale." The solution we are implementing is our fully proprietary innovative project that emerged from intensive research, numerous numerical simulations, leading to the modeling of the final technological system. This was a significant challenge because accurately predicting the effects of co-precipitation of many ions with different solubility products at different pH values and the continuous variability of stream compositions subjected to the process is a very difficult task, nearly impossible without the use of advanced numerical techniques,
adds Dr. Eng. Bogusław Buczak, Procurator and Director of the Process Engineering Department at SEEN Technologies Sp. z o.o.
Expanding the wastewater treatment plant will increase the process safety of the complex installation. Reducing ion concentrations, and consequently minimizing mineral sediment formation, will significantly reduce the potential risk of scaling-related issues.
Additionally, eliminating the production of large amounts of unnecessary mineral sediment in reactors will contribute to increasing their available capacity. This, in turn, will improve the overall efficiency of the purification process. Implementing these changes will also lead to a reduction in wastewater salinity by limiting the use of FeCl3.
The task will be completed on a "turnkey" basis.
The production facilities where the investment will be carried out are one of the largest capital investments of the company on a global scale. Currently, they consist of a chocolate factory, two pet food factories, and a milk factory for cats.
