Zakopane heated up the industry again - SEEN Technologie at the center of talks on the future of district heating
900 participants. 130 heating plants. 79 exhibitors. 48 presentations.
Zakopane once again became the heart of the Polish district heating industry - and SEEN Technologie was at its very center!
Our company was represented by Krzysztof Pacierpnik, Proxy and Sales Department Director. Although we did not appear on stage, it was at the tables and behind the scenes that the most important discussions took place - about implementations not in theory, but in practice.
One of the most talked about examples was the realization for an eco-combustion plant belonging to Krakow Municipal Holding. We designed and built a flue gas heat recovery installation to recover thermal energy previously irretrievably escaping into the atmosphere.
The installation makes it possible to recover up to 30,000 MWh of heat energy per year, which corresponds to the heat demand for nearly 9,000 single-family homes. This significantly reduces CO₂ emissions - according to estimates, a conventional coal-fired heating plant would emit as much as 26,000 tons of carbon dioxide per year to produce the same amount of energy!
An additional advantage of the technology we used is the reduction of water consumption - the system saves nearly 50,000 m³ per year, previously used in the cooling process.
A key component is a two-stage scrubber that cools and purifies the flue gas to about 70°C, condenses the moisture in it, and transfers the recovered heat to the city's district heating network using plate heat exchangers.
This is an example of how a modern approach to energy recovery can:
- Increase efficiency;
- Reduce emissions;
- Realistically reduce costs - without increasing the amount of waste processed.
We are returning from Zakopane with new contacts, interesting conversations and the conviction that our solutions meet real market needs.
