Electrodeionization

Electrodeionization (EDI) is a combination of electrodialysis and demineralization processes using ion-exchange resins, cationic and anionic selective membranes, and electrical energy. The EDI technology is a continuous process of removing ions from water, without the need for chemical reagents. Before the EDI process, the water should be pretreated using reverse osmosis (RO) systems. EDI technology allows for the reduction of water conductivity to the minimum level required in various industries, such as the energy sector, pharmaceutical industry, and electronics.
