MBR and membrane technologies
A Membrane Bioreactor (MBR) is a wastewater treatment technology that combines membrane filtration with a biological purification process. This system involves the degradation of organic matter contained in wastewater by microorganisms, followed by the passage of the treated water through a membrane to remove remaining suspended solids and microorganisms. The MBR system is used in the treatment of municipal and industrial wastewater containing significant amounts of organic substances.
